About the Role

Engine is seeking a Corporate Finance Lead to own and evolve the core planning, forecasting, and reporting capabilities that drive strategic decisions at the highest levels of the company. In this role, you’ll be a key architect of our financial infrastructure, guiding how Engine allocates resources, evaluates performance, and plans for growth.

This is a high-impact position with visibility across the executive team and board. You’ll lead cross-functional initiatives, own company-wide financial modeling, and serve as a key partner to senior leaders across departments. We’re looking for someone who thrives in ambiguity, brings strong analytical horsepower, and is motivated by building scalable finance capabilities from the ground up.

Your Mission

As part of the Engine team, you’ll help shape our financial future and accelerate company-wide decision-making with clarity and precision. Here’s what you’ll lead:

Key Responsibilities

  • Corporate Planning & Forecasting: Support with the company-wide planning process including annual budgets, quarterly reforecasts, and long-range plans. Partner closely with department leaders of the G&A org (Finance, Accounting, TA, People, Facilities, IT) to align on assumptions, priorities, and investment tradeoffs.
  • Executive & Board Reporting: Drive the preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting packages, providing strategic insights on company performance, trends, and key initiatives.
  • KPI & Performance Management: Define, track, and analyze company and department-level KPIs. Work with business teams to connect operational metrics to financial outcomes.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with stakeholders across G&A org and Talent Acquisition to inform and influence resource allocation, business cases, and strategic initiatives.
  • Position Management & Resource Allocation: Be key liaison between Talent Acquisition and Finance to ensure alignment on our operational Hiring Plan & financial forecasts
  • Systems & Process Optimization: Partner with Finance Operations to improve and scale forecasting models, financial tools, and reporting workflows. Ensure accuracy and efficiency as the company grows.
  • Mentorship & Influence: Support development of junior analysts and build a strong, insight-driven finance culture across the team and company.

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience: 6+ years in corporate finance, FP&A, investment banking, private equity, transaction advisory, or strategic consulting. Experience at a fast-scaling company or digital marketplace is a strong plus.

  • Strategic Financial Acumen: Deep understanding of the 3 financial statements and their interconnectivity. Proven experience in developing robust models and forecasting frameworks to support high-growth business decisions.

  • Analytical Rigor: You can cut through noise, uncover key drivers, and turn complex data into compelling insights. You’re equally comfortable in Excel and executive discussions.

  • Executive Presence: Experience working with executive teams or boards. Able to communicate confidently and succinctly across all levels of an organization.

  • Systems Knowledge: Strong familiarity with enterprise tools like NetSuite, Adaptive Insights, Planful, or Anaplan. Bonus points for experience automating reporting and planning workflows.

  • Project & Time Management: Ability to independently manage multiple high-priority initiatives in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

  • Leadership & Collaboration: You’re a proactive team player who builds trust quickly. You lead by example, mentor others, and thrive in cross-functional collaboration.

Compensation
Our compensation packages are based on several factors, including your experience and expertise. In addition to a competitive base salary, total compensation may include equity and/or variable pay (OTE). Your recruiter will share your complete compensation package as you move through the process.

Base Pay Range
$150,000$170,000 USD
