About the Role:

Hims & Hers is seeking a Director of Policy Development & Regulatory Intelligence to advise the company’s work at the intersection of healthcare regulation, legislative strategy, and evidence-based policymaking. This role combines regulatory intelligence with proactive policy development—shaping public policy, supporting advocacy, and ensuring the company stays ahead of emerging issues in digital health, data privacy, AI in healthcare, pharmacy, telehealth, and drug compounding. You’ll lead the development and execution of policy white papers, legislative proposals, regulatory comments, and internal guidance documents. This position requires close collaboration with a range of cross-functional partners including legal/regulatory, product, compliance, communications, and research teams to turn insights into action. Meaningful experience working within a U.S. state or federal government agency on healthcare, pharmaceutical, or technology policy is required.

You Will:

  • Working with internal regulatory, research, and legal teams, to monitor and assess state and federal legislative, regulatory, and enforcement developments across digital health, AI in healthcare, drug compounding (503A/503B), pharmacy, and telehealth, identifying specific areas that merit further analysis and input.

  • Proactively identify rulemaking and guidance from agencies including FDA, FTC, CMS, DEA, ONC, and state boards of pharmacy or medicine, providing timely, synthesized insights to relevant stakeholders and as appropriate.

  • Draft comment letters, white papers, internal policy memos, and briefing materials to inform and support drafting model legislation and regulation, as well as engage in strategic engagement in furtherance of these efforts.

  • Collaborate with internal research and data science teams to integrate clinical or outcomes data into persuasive, evidence-backed policy content.

  • Partner with legal, regulatory, compliance, and other internal teams to assess risks, shape company responses, and support business alignment with evolving regulations.

  • Provide policy support to the lobbying and public affairs teams, including legislative analysis and strategic messaging, and at times, engage in direct advocacy and partnership engagement and management.

  • Represent the company as needed in policy coalitions, public comment forums, and relevant industry working groups when needed.

  • Contribute to the development of the company’s forward-looking public policy and regulatory strategy, helping position Hims & Hers as a credible, proactive voice in healthcare innovation.

You Have:

  • 10+ years of experience in health policy, regulatory affairs, legal, or government affairs roles in healthcare, life sciences, or technology sectors.

  • Required: Experience working within a U.S. state or federal government agency focused on healthcare, pharmaceutical, or technology policy.

  • Demonstrated experience developing policy based on skills needed to evaluate legislation, regulations, and policy documents.

  • Strong understanding of digital health regulation, drug compounding frameworks, AI policy in healthcare, and pharmacy/telehealth oversight and/or and ability to get up to speed on these issue areas.

  • Exceptional writing and research skills with the ability to translate complex policy issues into clear, accessible, and persuasive documents.

  • Experience working in a cross-functional environment, whether across agencies or internal teams in a corporation.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; relevant advanced degree preferred.
