We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Finance Manager to take ownership of our end-to-end finance function. As the first dedicated finance hire in a growing business, this role is ideal for someone who thrives in both operational and strategic capacities.
You’ll be responsible for managing all aspects of the company’s financial operations — from bookkeeping, payroll, and supplier payments to cash flow forecasting and reporting. Working closely with internal stakeholders, you'll ensure accurate financial visibility across both business-as-usual (BAU) activities and project-based initiatives.

You’ll be responsible for managing all aspects of the company’s financial operations — from bookkeeping, payroll, and supplier payments to cash flow forecasting and reporting. Working closely with internal stakeholders, you'll ensure accurate financial visibility across both business-as-usual (BAU) activities and project-based initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Your day to day will consist of:
  • Overseeing all finance operations including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll (low touch).
  • Managing supplier payments through a variety of channels including card, direct debit, and manual transactions.
  • End-to-end bookkeeping and financial reporting.
  • Forecasting cash flow for both BAU and project-based expenses (e.g. large equipment purchases).
  • Preparing and delivering monthly management accounts.
  • Supporting strategic finance functions while maintaining financial accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with teams using platforms such as Autotask.
  • Playing a foundational role in the finance department with potential to grow into a leadership role as the team expands.
  • To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Skills/Experience – Required
  • Strong experience with accounts receivable and payable
  • Proven experience in bookkeeping and general ledger maintenance
  • Cash flow forecasting and financial planning
  • Preparation of management reports and financial statements
  • Payroll processing
  • Exposure to small business or MSP (Managed Service Provider) environments

  • Skills/Experience – Desirable
  • Familiarity with MSP operations and billing processes
  • Experience working in a start-up or growth-phase company
  • Prior involvement with finance system implementations or improvements

  • Microsoft 365 (Excel, Outlook, Teams)

  • GoCardless (direct debit payments)
  • Stripe (credit card payments)

  • Self-starter with the ability to take full ownership of the finance function
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Clear communicator with confidence in reporting financial insights to leadership
  • Comfortable operating both strategically and hands-on
  • Adaptable and solution-focused mindset
  • Able to work autonomously while collaborating with remote teams
