Why This Role is Exciting
You will be a high-impact team member who can wear both operational and technical accounting hats! This role will tactically oversee the revenue and commission processing of sales contracts, supervise/review their related reporting and monthly close processes, as well as research and apply related guidance. This key position will also provide you with exposure to leadership, cross-functional teams (order management, finance, tax), and external parties to execute and report on our revenue accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities
Report to the accounting senior manager and manage a revenue accountant as part of a tight-knit revenue unit
Perform detailed review of sales contracts to understand and accurately assess terms, and apply appropriate accounting treatment in accordance with US GAAP
Maintain AuditBoard’s compliance with ASC 606, including SSP price lists and transaction price allocations
Review and book subscription and service revenue recognition as part of month and quarter-end close, including reconciling deferred revenue rollforwards and unbilled AR
Work alongside the commissions team to review for accuracy and completeness of commission calculations and system outputs used in preparation of GL rollforwards
Calculate and review SaaS metrics (e.g., ARR, GRR, NRR) in monthly key performance indicator (KPI) reporting
Prepare and review financial and other audit/statutory reporting relating to revenue recognition
Coach and foster the career development of the revenue accountant
Support AuditBoard’s international expansion by researching and implementing scalable processes and best practices, collaborating with internal/external groups as needed
Lead and perform ad hoc special projects, reports, and analyses as needed
Attributes for a Successful Candidate
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with a CPA
5+ years accounting experience with Big 4 or public/private mix
Strong understanding of US GAAP and revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 (cloud SaaS experience preferred)
Experience managing and/or coaching junior accountants
High proficiency in Excel
Hands-on and communicative mindset, enjoys working in a varied environment and managing multiple concurrent projects and tasks
Highly organized and detail oriented, excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Familiarity with NetSuite ERP, Maxio (formerly SaaSOptics), and SalesForce a plus
