JOB DESCRIPTION 

The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the VMS Co-Op period-end close process by contributing to the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, preparing and passing journal entries, and completing monthly general ledger account reconciliations. This is a full-time, temporary position with a planned duration of 3 months.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Prepare journal entries and account analyses for prepaid and accrued expense schedules 
  • Maintain documentation and contribute to the development and review of monthly fixed assets schedule 
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations including bank reconciliations 
  • Perform monthly SG&A expenses review actual vs. budgets 
  • Maintain documentation for tax and assist in processing the monthly & quarterly returns 
  • Be an integral part of the month-end close and ensure adherence to key deadlines 
  • Participate in internal and external audit engagements, including remediation of audit issues 
  • Prepare Unilever intercompany account reconciliation and perform variance analyses 
  • Prepare monthly financial report and trial balance to Unilever 
  • Review month-end DTC revenue recognition including preparation of deferred revenue reconciliations and cash reconciliation 
  • Perform and record revenue transactions, reconciliation of accounts, and preparation of financial statements and reports related to revenue 
  • Understand and follow revenue accounting policies and procedures to ensure consistency and accuracy across the company 
  • Assist the Accounting Manager in other projects, as needed 

 CAPABILITIES + SKILLS REQUIRED  

  • 3-5 years of accounting experience (primarily in reconciliations + schedule preparation) 
  • Ability to identify problems, articulate, extract insights and propose solutions 
  • Ability to simplify financial information and present logical recommendations 
  • Ability to stay organized and make recommendations on how work should be prioritized 
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment 
  • Strong MS Excel skills. Proficiency in Power Point + Word. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, preferred but not required 

 THE DETAILS 

LOCATION: Remote, USA 

HOURS: 40 hours per week 

DURATION: 3 months 

RATE: $45-$55 per hour based on experience
