About this role
As Pareto’s Head of Partnerships, specifically in the AI Research industry, you will spearhead and scale our company’s research-driven partnerships with organizations requiring frontier data (e.g. leading AI research labs and companies). Working closely with our Founder, Phoebe Yao, you will partner with Pareto’s product and research teams to create and implement our research-driven sales strategy; one that builds a broad network of partnerships by focusing on relationship building and connecting with the AI Researcher community.

Key Responsibilities/ What you’ll do:
Develop and execute AI research partnership strategy
Relationship building and connecting with the AI Researcher community through hosting and attending events aimed at sharing Pareto’s state of the art data delivery and ability to meet our clients’ AI research data needs
Define, negotiate, and close high-impact AI Research projects for Pareto’s frontier data delivery
Research and stay on top of AI trends to identify new opportunities in the frontier data and future of work industries
What you’ll need:
Based in San Francisco or willing to relocate
5+ years of experience in sales, business development, or partnership management, preferably within the AI or technology sector.
A pre-existing strong network of relationships within the AI research community.
Base level knowledge of the AI ecosystem including AI research organizations, technology, what large and small companies are doing, and industry alliances
Experience leading cross-functional teams to orchestrate and complete deals, including experience interpreting legal documents and working with legal teams to complete agreements
Experience in working closely with product and engineering teams
Nice to have:
Technical background, which may include a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Data/Computer Science, Human Computer Interaction, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience in data licensing deals
Experience in a fast-paced and highly ambiguous start-up environment
